About Me
I am a full time mother of two boys with a passion for birth and motherhood. I have been a stay at home mom for eight years, and recently made the decision to start a career that is driven by my passions, serves women and families in my community, and still allows me to spend the majority of my time with my family. In March 2022 I completed DONA birth doula training, and am in the process of fulfilling the requirements for certification. I also attended the Spinning Babies workshop in Fall 2022. We currently live on three acres in the Wildwood area, along with our two dogs, two snakes, and six chickens.
Giving birth is an extraordinary life event that women are fortunate to experience. It is not a medical event requiring management, but a natural, instinctual process that should not create fear or anxiety. You can find the strength to have control of your birth from many sources, whether that is your partner, affirmations, your religion, or a grounding in nature. My role is to support you through your labor using whatever method is most helpful to you, both physically and mentally.
I went into pregnancy with a set plan to have unmedicated births. I managed it well both times, thanks to preparation, determination, and lots of support from my husband, mother, and a doula. Years of reading books and studies, listening to birth stories, and my own experiences have set my belief that the vast majority of pregnancies can support a natural labor with minimal to no interference. As the mother, you are the one in control of your birth and how you introduce your child to you and the world.
